Sewe Slabberts is a family-owned farm located in the heart of the scenic Riemland in Reitz, South Africa. Owned by Danie Slabbert, alongside his wife Via Slabbert and their five children (hence the name Seven Slabberts), this farm embodies the principles of regenerative agriculture. Danie raises cattle, sheep, and chickens using an Ultra High Density Grazing method, which not only promotes soil health and a sustainable ecosystem but gives a unique and 100% true flavour to the meat. All animals on the farm are born and raised naturally, without the use of any chemicals, ensuring a holistic and environmentally friendly approach to farming that preserves the land for future generations.
What is Regenerative Meat?
Ultra High Density Grazing (UHDG) regenerative meat comes from livestock raised solely on natural veld and regeneratively farmed pastures, using a grazing technique that closely mimics natural animal herding behaviours. On our farm, animals are grouped tightly and moved frequently (every hour of the day) across small sections of pasture. This movement creates a symbiotic relationship between the animals and the soil, allowing the land to thrive. The animals’ dung and urine are evenly distributed across the land, naturally fertilizing the soil as they graze. This process mimics the impact of wild herds that once roamed the Riemland, grazing densely in one area before moving on, only to return to the same spot in a year, allowing the land to rest, regenerate, and flourish.
By using the UHDG method, nature provides the animals with all they need, and we rely entirely on nature, allowing us to farm 100% free from growth hormones, antibiotics, pesticides, synthetics, GMO feed, and other chemicals.
HEALTHY MEAT with Flavour:
Regenerative meat offers numerous health benefits and an exceptional flavour profile. Raised naturally on diverse pastures without chemicals, these animals produce meat that is nutrient-dense, rich in healthy fats like omega-3s, and free from antibiotics, hormones, and synthetic additives. This Ultra High Density Grazing method also enhances the meat’s flavour, as animals graze on a wide variety of native plants that only flourishes due to this method, creating unique and robust taste characteristics. The result is a tender, flavourful meat that not only supports a healthy diet but also promotes sustainable and regenerative farming practices.
